The kit comes with four (4) structural aluminum (6061) radials that measure 1/8" x 1/2" x 20" (3mm x 13mm x 51cm). For many years amateur radio operators have raved about 's 2-meter mobile antenna (Model 2M-4) because of its outstanding performance. The core material is 3/8" (9.5mm) solid fiberglass that is wound with 19ga heavy insulated copper wire. Each is pre-drilled to mount to the hub plate. for the hobbyist, it will offer numerous opportunities to be creative. One user was so elated with the performance of the mobile whip that they pieced together a base antenna that used the mobile whip as its radiating element. The antenna base threads are 3/8"-24.A combination angle bracket, u-bolt, hub plate and antenna stud is central to the assembly of the base antenna. Their enthusiasm was so great that they ask us to consider making a commercial version for them to sell. All of this is covered with white, UV stabilized PVC shrink tubing. The antenna stud utilizes a standard SO-239 base for easy hook-up with any UHF (PL-259) terminated coaxial cable.The hub plate is a unique item that we designed to bring this base antenna together as a commercial kit. and so, opportunity knocked ... The end result of their "experiment" was discovering that the base antenna performed even better than the mobile antenna. This assembly will mount to the top of any mast up to 1.5" (38mm) in diameter. The radiating element is approximately 45" long (114cm). and we answered the door.The radiating element is a 6dBi 5/8 wave design.
