Gallery wrap is a method of stretching an artist's canvas so that the canvas wraps around the sides and is secured a hidden, wooden frame. Giclee (jee-clay) is an advanced printmaking process for creating high quality fine art reproductions. The attainable excellence that Giclee printmaking affords makes the reproduction virtually indistinguishable from the original piece. Over the last ten years she has developed a technique of applying shellac and oil onto gesso that realises seldom achieved potential in the pigment. The result is wide acceptance of Giclee by galleries, museums, and private collectors. Artist: Lou Gibbs Subject: Landscapes Style: Contemporary Product Type: Gallery-Wrapped Canvas Art This ready to hang, gallery-wrapped art piece features an abstracted painting of a seascape in shades of purple and gold. This method of stretching and preparing a canvas allows for a frameless presentation of the finished painting. Since then, she has continued to paint full time and is currently listed with East West Gallery. Working with this newly developed medium, she plays a scale with our perceptions evoking a real sense of a landscape that is, in fact, only dreamed. Here, she studied under Bernard Cohen, Michael Porter and Prunella Clough. Lou Gibbs completed a degree in Fine Art Painting at Wimbledon School of Art in 1989.
