Our Neoprene sheeting offers excellent all-around resistance, making it versatile enough for indoor and outdoor applications alike. The unique neoprene blend that makes up Rubber-Calâs Neoprene sheet rubber gives it great resistance to many substances that can easily degrade other types of rubber material. The neoprene sheeting performs well in temperatures from -20° to 212° F, making it the ideal choice for most industrial applications. This heavy-duty neoprene is the ideal industrial rubber material. Neoprene sheeting is highly valued in outdoor applications because it can withstand UV rays, ozone, and weathering. Rubber neoprene was developed by DuPont in the 1930s to meet the demand for a rubber material with chemical resistance and outdoor capabilities. Though other kinds of synthetic rubber may have stronger resistance to some of these conditions, no other material offers the diverse cumulation of resistance that neoprene rubber does. Our neoprene sheets are actually a synthetic rubber compound, made with a blend of styrene butadiene rubber and chloroprene (neoprene) to give it the strength of both synthetic rubbers. The neoprene material stands up to acetic acids, petroleum-based solvents, and certain oils and chemicals. Neoprene rubber performs well in high-stress applicationsâparticularly in outdoor and industrial conditionsâthat could damage other types of synthetic rubber. This mix of sheet rubber materials gives the neoprene sheeting moderate resistance to oils, chemicals, and many damaging effects of weather. While other synthetic rubber materials degrade quickly under intense physical conditions, neoprene sheeting is designed to endure. This thick neoprene has a durometer of 40A, giving it a somewhat soft surface with an excellent range of flexibility. No need to worry about high temperatures or heavy abrasions damaging the black rubber sheeting; this 1/2" neoprene is the thickest gauge available and works best in high-stress physical applications. The result is a smooth, solid rubber that is highly desired for intense applications.A key strength of neoprene rubber is its intense temperature range and resistance. Rubber-Calâs Neoprene rubber is a durable synthetic elastomer that is designed for industrial applications. Our neoprene sheeting comes in a selection of gauges, lengths, and widths to ensure the proper fit for any desired application. Different applications may also require varying levels of neoprene durometer. The 40A durometer neoprene is extremely pliable, making it a good choice for sealing applications like insulation or industrial gasketing.
