Her work is inspired by a love of travel and nature and defined by the act of the process, which combines non-traditional materials and photography. The attainable excellence that Giclee printmaking affords makes the reproduction virtually indistinguishable from the original piece. Since graduating from Central Saint Martins with a BA in Fine Art, Kika has engaged in a variety of disciplines, exhibiting internationally whilst working as a commercial photographer. This method of stretching and preparing a canvas allows for a frameless presentation of the finished painting. Artist: Kika Pierides Subject: Abstract Style: Contemporary Product Type: Gallery-Wrapped Canvas Art This ready to hang, gallery-wrapped art piece features black and brown forms fracturing apart over a white background. Giclee (jee-clay) is an advanced printmaking process for creating high quality fine art reproductions. Gallery wrap is a method of stretching an artist's canvas so that the canvas wraps around the sides and is secured a hidden, wooden frame. The result is wide acceptance of Giclee by galleries, museums, and private collectors. Kika Pierides is an artist, photographer, short course lecturer and curator. She currently works as a freelance artist for Bridgeman Images and Getty Images when she is not teaching.
