Gallery wrap is a method of stretching an artist's canvas so that the canvas wraps around the sides and is secured a hidden, wooden frame. Giclee (jee-clay) is an advanced printmaking process for creating high quality fine art reproductions. The attainable excellence that Giclee printmaking affords makes the reproduction virtually indistinguishable from the original piece. These are the frontiers of his life, and have proved fertile themes in his work to date. The result is wide acceptance of Giclee by galleries, museums, and private collectors. Artist: Charlie Millar Subject: Abstract Style: Contemporary Product Type: Gallery-Wrapped Canvas Art This ready to hang, gallery-wrapped art piece features an abstract painting with a ribbon of red snaking across a blue-grey background. This method of stretching and preparing a canvas allows for a frameless presentation of the finished painting. Mali has given him a rich new perspective on those things that matter most to him: music, faith and buildings. For some years his paintings have evoked a strong sense of place through an exploration of what makes those places unique. Travelling vast distances within the country, he created a series of sketches and works on paper that formed the basis of some of the most exciting work of his career. In November 2000 Charlie Millar flew to Mali equipped with a handful of pencils, a tiny watercolour tin and a bag of paper.
