Years later Tom now has the experience of black and white, color printing, lab work and now the digital age of photography. The attainable excellence that Giclee printmaking affords makes the reproduction virtually indistinguishable from the original piece. At the age of twelve, Tom was introduced to a black and white darkroom and was immediately captivated by the magic that took place, processing film and producing a finished print. This method of stretching and preparing a canvas allows for a frameless presentation of the finished painting. Artist: Tom Kelly Subject: Landscape Style: Bold & Eclectic Modern Product Type: Gallery-Wrapped Canvas Art This ready to hang, gallery-wrapped art piece features a large body of water with large rocks on the right side of the frame. Giclee (jee-clay) is an advanced printmaking process for creating high quality fine art reproductions. Gallery wrap is a method of stretching an artist's canvas so that the canvas wraps around the sides and is secured a hidden, wooden frame. The result is wide acceptance of Giclee by galleries, museums, and private collectors. Tom was born in Marquette Michigan, the son of a physics professor and art teacher, always being exposed to arts, crafts and the wilderness of Michigan upper peninsula. After photography and business school, Tom started a photographic business, working with the Ann Arbor art association teaching artist how to shoot slides of their art work to present to galleries.
